Installed Canon MF Scan Utility on my MacBook Pro (OS X El Capitan)

It won't scan consistently. It would continuously throw an error:

Cannot communicate with the scanner.
The cable may be disconnected, or the scanner may be turned off.
Check the scanner status and try again.
Scanner driver will be terminated.

Error code: 600007

Cannot communicate with the scanner.
The cable may be disconnected, or the scanner may be turned off.
Check the scanner status and try again.
Scanner driver will be terminated.

Error code: 600104

Cannot scan because of the following:

- Scanner is busy
- Error occurred in the scanner
- Scanner is in Sleep mode

Check the scanner status and try again.
Scanner driver will be terminated.

Error code: 2100009

I would get varying errors. I ensure that the printer is awake and the scanner is ready.

I'm ablet to print ok, and scan via email ok. Something is preventing the connection between the utility and the printer.

please help!

I had all of my printers drivers/software installed properly, were working to a T. Then one day the adf went out.. an inconvienience, but no big deal, i can make due. now the other day the printer went out. giving me an error messages along the lines of 'printer has either been disconnected/removed from the network. scanner driver will be terminated.' So i came on the forums here, where I found info to uninstall existing drivers and software, and reinstall latest drivers. Did that, and scanner and adf still both don't work?? the printer is on my network, i tried hooking printer up to network via ethernet to router but it didn't seem to make a difference. Please help!! thanks!!

Can't change scan resolution on Canon MF733CDW

Hi,

I bought this multifunction office printer recently, and I love it except that there is only one available scan resoution available, 300 dpi) when I scan to my Mac Book Pro running Mac OS 10.13.6.

Attached is a screen shot

Screen Shot 2018-12-13 at 7.28.32 PM.png

As the image shows, only the 300 dpi option is available in the resoution menu. This causes the scanned file size to be quite large for multi page documents.

Any suggestions?

Hi.

My Canon Pro-10 is just 4 years old but has hardly been used during that time.

It was printing goodfor the first dozen or so images (A3+) but I have not used it for around 18 months now and for some unknown reason photos are being printed in what appears to be colour negatives.

I am using the same paper as where the images were printed good and I have not adjusted any settings that I know of.

Can anyone inform me on what the problem is likeley to be please?

Thanks

LBP7660CDN prints one page then throws paper jam error but no jam

I have an LBP7660CDN that would not print more than one page at a time before throwing a paperjam error when there isn't anything stuck in there.

I just have to go through the menu and pretend like I did clear the jam and it would print again. However, it would restart the print job and print the first page again, it's very annoying. Does anyone have a fix for this?

'Filter' failed error message

I am trying to print on  my coworking office's ImageRunner 1730. I have a MacBook runing Sierra 10.12.6. I've installed and uninstalled the drivers a bazillion times, restarted my computer a bazillion times, and followed the directions for installing the printer via IP address that was provided me by the managers a bazillion times. It connects and seems to start to print but then quits and I get the message "Stopped - 'Filter' failed." I'm frustrated.

An Endless (Re)Setup Procedure

    Hi.

We all remember with great nostalgia that motion picture where a couple of software engineers were taking a printer and smashing it to pieces on a field full of grass.

After the initiation of the project for landing a few human beings on the surface of the planet Mars, the "Microsoft" "Windows" "10" "Non-N" 64-bit operating system is definitely one of the greatest calamities that the humanity is currently enduring.

We have attempted to use a "Canon" "I-SENSYS" "MF4010" under this operating system. No matter what kind of procedures we have attempted to apply, it is always becoming unrecognizable, offering weird software errors to us, messing itself up beyond our mere comprehension.

Recently, to our utmost surprise, we have been able to scan an image. God Himself only knows how we have been able to achieve that magnificent result.

However, we have attempted today to print a file and of course that the machine did not want to perform that simple monkey trick.

We are utterly fed up with this satanic behavior. Please provide some nice and solid pieces of support to us.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards,
    DOBRESCU_Mihai.

Scan to Email issues

Hi,

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 Pro x64, and I am no longer able to scan to my email using Toolbox. I am using Outlook with Office 365, our email is IMAP, and the printer is an imageCLASS D1320.

When I click scan, it initiates and scans fine, however when it attempts to open outlook I receive an error "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook, The command line arguement is not valid"

I've tried re-associating file types, reinstalling the printer, reinstalled Office etc...

Any ideas?

MF4890dw paper jam

I was trying to install the MF4890dw printer. I was able to connect to wirless network through SSID, but failed to print out test page.

It reported paper jam. I removed the paper, it was able to start but the problem occured again. This kept happening for 3 times. Then when I removed the paper, the paper jam error didn't disappear any more, it is always there. I checked all the parts and no residue inside the printer. I just wonder if there is a way  to reset the printer to get rid of the paper jam error message?

Thanks!

BTW, this is really frustrating, since the printer is brand new, and I was just pinrt the test page during installation.

Canon MF634Cdw / MF733Cdw native scanner resolution

$

I was just about to pull the trigger and order a mf733cdw but I read the scanner is limited to native scanning at 300dpi and anything above this is achieved through image processing. Has this been addressed through a firmware upgrade or is this correct, in which case I'm likely to go for a single purpose color laser instead and look elsewhere for image scanning.

This is the comment I found online, "I had both the MF634Cdw and MF733Cdw and returned both. The scanning specs on both printers are wrong. I spent many hours with Canon reps, and finally their engineer confirmed that both the MF634Cdw and MF733Cdw scan at native 300 dpi optical only via the ADF. Anything higher than 300 dpi has to be done through interpolation with the software via a PC, which is why you can't scan more than 300 dpi optical from the printers' control panel.

Canon uses the same scanning hardware as HP, and there is a defect on the scanning hardware, where the scanning element is slightly off the vertical axis that causes the scanned document to be crooked. You have to look hard and scan vertical parallel lines to notice this defect. The only fix is to use the software to correct it."

thanks for any clarification.

Failed to create the print image. Canceling printing in Free Layout plus

$

Whenever I try to print anything in Free Layout plus, I get the same message right before it prints:

"Failed to create the print image. Canceling printing."

This happens whether I'm trying the Free Layout or Tiling features within Free Layout plus. More info: Printer: Canon ImagePROGRAF PRO-4000 on a LAN. Computer: Win10 with 16GB RAM and a GTX 1080 video card. Latest versions (2019) of Photoshop and Illustrator, but Free Layout plus refuses to print *anything*, even if I send it a print job from my browser.

No matter what I do, the same message appears. I have tried uninstalling Free Layout plus and reinstalling it. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Canon printer drivers. Nothing helps; the same message appears. This appears when I print from any application: a web browser, Photoshop, Illustrator, GIMP.

Everything else prints perfectly. Printing from Illustrator, Photoshop, and all other apps is flawless. The only problem is Free Layout plus refusing to print anything. I have installed the latest Canon drivers. The printer is only three months old. I have installed the latest version of Free Layout plus.

I contacted Canon Support a few weeks ago, and they reproduced the problem on their machine. The Canon customer support rep installed the same Canon software and bingo! The same message appeared on his screen, too. He said he would escalate it.

A day later, I got a message on my voicemail from the same Canon support rep, asking me if the images I were printing had layers, and how large the images were. But, I'm so frustrated I never tried to call him back. He never left me his name, his phone number, his email, or any other information that would permit me to contact him back. The images are small. There are no layers in the images. Everything is printing fine except for Free Layout plus.

It's so frustrating that it prints such a cryptic, unhelpful message: "Failed to create the print image." Why did it fail? I can't find anything online to help me. Free Layout plus was one of the reasons why I purchased this printer for my business. I'm also frustrated that Canon reproduced this error on their machines weeks ago and nobody has contacted me back with any information at all.

Could somebody please help me? I don't know what to do! Canon?

My printer not printing well

Hello

I purchased this refurbished Canon PC 300 back in the late nineties.  I have never had any serious problems with it, either.  Just recently when attempting to print a page, I noticed that the page that was coming out of the printer printed 2 or 3 inches of text, then the next 2 or 3 inches was blank. This went on in this pattern until the page was done. Print for a few inches, then blank for a few inches.  I checked the lid to see if there was anything that might be causing the printer to print in this manner.   Every time I print a new document it prints like this.  I don't know what is causing this.  Can someone who is familiar with this printer shed some light on this issue?  There isn't much to this small printer; however, something isn't right.   Thanks in advance.

SET UP COMPLETED SUCCESSFULY, BUT PRINTER NOT PRINTING

$

I have a Canon ImageClass MF232W printer.

I went through the process to set up the new printer, connecting it to my wireless LAN network. All went successfully, and eventually the word "Connected" was displayed on the screen. The Wi-Fi light is solid blue.

I then successfully downloaded and installed the drivers on my computer.

But I cannot get the printer to print, not even a test page!

When I send a document to be printed, nothing happens, and neither do I receive an error message on my computer.

When I run the Troubleshooter, I do get a message which says: "There might be problems with Canon MF230 Series UFRII LT. Windows will take additional steps to further troubleshoot."

What I don't understand is that this printer was working just fine after I bought it a few months ago, and then all of a sudden this problem happened.

Does anybody have any ideas?

TM-305 - Custom paper size / roller margin workaround???!

Hello all, 1st post, be gentle pls & thx Smiley Wink

1stly, thx for reading my post.  I am after a workaround for this seemingly simple problem, how to I get to a landscape letter paper size, so when I feed in a cut sheet of 8.5x11 in a landscape fashion, it will maximize my top to btm printing on my print?

To clarify, I need 10.75" image to fit on an 11" photo paper (to fit my frame).  But because of the roller, I need to be able to feed the paper into the printer in a landscape fashion, so the roller is on the left side of the image, squeezing space on the side instead of top & bottom.  The margin space for the roller shows up in the print preview (seemingly 20mm).  Alas there is no landscape letter standard size.  Anyone know of a work around?  I've tried making a 11" x 8.5" custom size, but the canon software will not allow...which just plainly is shooting me in the foot.  All I need is a Landscape Letter standard size!  Is that too much to ask for?  Seemingly that is the case right now...  UGH!
