Canon MF743CDW - "Best Print Quality Setting"

Hi Guys,

 

Wondering if anyone know if the Canon MF743CDW model laser printer is capable of printing at "best quality" in qualty/media settings using mac/apple secure/regular AirPrint?

 

When selecting quality media and moving the slider bar from "normal" to "best" the slider auto snaps back.

 

Changing media type or color/bw does not allow the slider bar to move to "best."

 

Likewise, when printing with the Canon drivers downloaded direct from the Canon MF743CDW drivers webpages, for MacOS Big Sur, there is not "quality" slider bar setting available. "Quality" in this driver is determined by a dpi setting that you can change from 600dpi to 1200 dpi.

 

Does changing this setting do anything for the print quality as the printer is rated at only 600 dpi?

 

Is the AirPrint slider bar "draft" "normal" "best" simply a "300" "600" "1200" dpi slider? And therefore, since 743cdw only prints at 600dpi we are unable to move the bar form "normal" to "best"?

 

Please let me know if there is a way to resolve this setting and achieve the absolute maximum best prints. I'm interested in laser prints for art purposes.

 

Lastly, has anyone compared the print results from this printer with the HP M255DW or M283FDW? This printer was rated high for it's print quality, but so were these HP's and I'm uncertain which has the better quality. Thank you.

MF644cdw - Shows Offline from MAC

I have been struggling to get this printer to work consistently on my network from my MACs. Most of the times when I try to print, I get an error.

 

Opening the Settings --> Printers and Scanners --> Canon 644c,

The banner says that the printer is offline.

Under the print job I get the message Priner - Unable to find printer

 

  • The printer is on
  • The printer is close to the wifi router
  • I am using a reserved ip address for the printer (so that I have the same ip each time)
  • I can access the printer from the browser using the ip address
  • I was able to print from a moblie phone
  • I can scan from the Canon Print Business mobile app
  • I have installed the latest drivers from the support site on the PCs 
  • I have tried to use the Airprint driver as well as the Canon Support site drivers

None of the macs can consistently print using the print function. 

 

Anyone else face the same problem?

 

Imageformula DR-2010C scanner software malfunction

On an Imageformula DR-2010C scanner, I assigned specific jobs to the function keys using the Captureontouch program, as well as a path for file saving. Recently, however, the keys no longer start the assigned jobs, but they all execute an identical job different from the ones I saved. Even the save path is no longer editable, now it is completely disappeared from the panels. I have tried several times to reinstall both the drivers version 1.3 and the program version 1.1, even deleting the keys from the windows registry (even if most of the keys are locked by the system and cannot be deleted). How can I restore the scanner defaults?

Imageclass mf212w operational panel won't power up/light up

I am hoping this is just an error between chair and keyboard problem.

 

I just returned from a month long trip, so my printer wasn't being used for a while. When I tried to print today, the operational panel didn't light up and nothing I am pushing is getting it to do so. Like it's in a permanent Sleep mode (and, yes, I pushed the sleep mode button, no dice).

 

I checked the power and USB cables. No issues. The printer is receiving power; I confirmed that with the manual power button.

 

My computer (Windows 10) shows it as Offline.

 

I was printing just fine with this right before my trip (printed out some itineraries). No one's around to use my printer when I'm gone. So I have no idea what's up.

 

Does this issue sound familiar to any of you experts?

I have the 5B00 error.  I have done much internet research and cannot find out to remove this error. I have already cleaned the ink absorber and understand I need to reset the ink absorber counter to zero. I can put my printer into service mode but none of the internet suggestions on how to zero out the counter work. I do not have the Service Tool software as I saw that on YouTube was one way to do a software reset. I cannot find this software from a secure, reputable internet source to download either. Hence, why I was trying to do a hardware reset.  This printer was purchase in October of 2011 and has worked great.  However, I am very unhappy the Canon is locking me out of my printer simply because of a memory counter clock. There is nothing wrong with my printer. All the hardware works great. I simply cannot use it because of this ink counter.  Canon, I do not understand why you are forcing me to throw away this printer simply because of this ink absorber counter.  If ultimately that is what I have to do, then you can be assured my next printer is not going to be a Canon.

MF644cdw - Printer offline

I got a new MF644cdw today. When I first set it up, everything worked fine. I tried printing via wireless mode from 2 different devices and they worked perfectly.

 

However, a couple of hours later, I tried to print something and I can't get any PC or Mac to connect with the printer. I tried to power off the printer, tried to reconnect it with my wireless router. However, none of these worked.

 

Anyone had a similar issue? How did you resolve this?

HP laptop doesnt recognise canon MF643 scaner

Hi,

 

today I spend 3 hours, that conect canon printer/scaner MF643 to new HP laptop windows 10, 64bit.

I can send files from HP to canon and print documents, also i can connect wi-fi HP with canon.

 

My problem is, than I CAN NOT connect Canon SCANER with HP laptop. HP laptop doesnt recognise canon mf643 when I instal drivers with USB cable, that I could have scaner on canon aplication. So I can not scan document and send them from Canon to HP. 

 

Can you please help me, what I need to do, that HP laptop will recognise canon printer/scaner after when I install canon driver.

Scanner MF731C/733C errors

The MF Scan Utility would get an error: scan driver not supported / scan driver not installed. The MF Tool Box couldn't install, kept erroring saying unsupported drivers. There is only one driver package available on the Canon site for this printer/scanner.

Network printer >> printer is working, scanner is not working.

 

Is there a fix for this or any updated drivers that would resolve the issue?

Hello,

 

I was printing some color pages when the printer suddenly printed a very low-quality B&W page, then started making a noise like it was trying to feed more paper, but doesn't.

 

No error codes or anything come up.

 

I tried restarting and it just makes the same 'failed paper feed' noise until I cancel the job and turn it off.

 

I cleaned the ITB, but when I try to clean the Fixing Unit, the same noise happens and nothing else for many minutes until I cancel and turn off. My attempts to clean the Feeder just immediately come back with a "Cleaning Failed" message.

 

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Red prints Yellow

So i've had this canon mf644cdw for a few months now and it was working fine. After printing up a bunch "50-100" flyers i lost RED. Now red prints as yellow. I replaced the red cartridge thinking that was the problem but red still prints yellow. I have checked printing all other colors and they all work fine INDIVIDUALLY but mostly prints yellow on normal print job with several colors. Am waiting on a yellow cartridge to replace and try that but i'm not sure this is a cartridge issue.

 

I've tried: reset all settings to default, then... 

1: "removing and reinstall the red toner cartridge"

2: "clean fixing assembly"

3: "clean ITB"

4: "clean feeder"

5: "auto adjust gradiation"

6: "correct print color mismatch"

7) "print from different pc to make sure that is not the issue"

Chrome OS Scan Support for ImageClass MF632CDW

Thinking of switching from and old iMac to a Chromebook as a home device.  With Google Home Print going away next month, my questions are:

 

  1. Will printing for my device still be supported in Chrome OS without Google Home Print
  2. Is there a solution to scan from Chrome OS

MF 731 - No words, strange lines, faded image - plenty of toner! Help pls!

Toner levels are good, but print outs are: 

1. faded

2. non-existant (i'm getting one vertical line on the left and one horizontal line in the middle??)
3.  I've ran all the maintinence on the machine
4. I'm currently trying to print out a UPS label but this happens with anything (i.e word doc.)

Not sure if it's one issue or many - any help would be greatly appreciatedIMG_5464.jpg

MF644 - Washed out/Faded printing

Printing began printing unevenly faded pages whether all print or with graphics, has graduated pages being evenly faded to almost unreadability.  Colors seem to print ok photos seem streaky and darker than expected, on plain ltr paper.  Colors, i.e. highlighed text, in other wise B&W text pages seem to print accurately.

 

An exception is that a document (auto repair manual) that I scanned in as pdf, prints nicely, text and images, from Foxit Reader. It is all B&W.  Although the nature of the ink print in that manual may cause the printer to "see" it as color, if that is possible.  PDF docs downloaded from the internet to  Foxit Reader do not print well.

 

Documents from Word, Outlook, FireFox, are printing very faded.

 

The same printing problems occur when copying.

 

I have completed the maintenance options except that Clean Feeder would not run, and did not do Control Condensation.

All cartridges are at 80%.

Printing from ChromeOS

Since Google Cloud Print is being discontinued at the end of the month, is there a supported (or unsupported) way to continue to print to the printer from ChromeBooks? My school kids would really like to be able to print their assignments since we're all stuck at home Smiley Sad

 

The printer does officially support IPP which I should be able to use to print from ChromeOS, but I haven't found any documentation on what the IPP settings are, the default ipp/print queue name doesn't seem to work.

I have a PIXMA MG7720.   I've used it since 6/17,  with no problems. I'm not a heavy printer user

 

The other day, out of the blue, I get Support code 1256, and it tells me to open the paper output tray.  When I do this, it says "an error has occurred", and that comes under Support Code 6000.  I can not proceed/print.

 

I've tried and tried to get help of some sort from Canon to try and understand how to go further,  without any success.  To say I am  frustrated (and disgusted) with Canon support would be an understatement!

Hi folks,

 

A tech novice looking for a bit of help. I`m using my own personal laptop at work and it`s hooked up to the works printer fine. Printing through wi-fi without any issues. However, when I go to printer settings they are super basic as can be seen in the attached photos. I`d like to be able to choose paper souce, print posters etc, but just getting the bare minumum. I just downloaded the latest driver from the Canon website but still having the same issues.

Driver recently download: Generic Plus LIPSLX Printer Driver version 2.30

Canon LBP622C/623C

I have a Canon LBP622/623C laser printer.  It has started creating ridges down the middle which, as far as I can tell, are coming from the 2 raised ridges on the feeder that feeds the printed page into the tray on top.  This is causing color runs and marks through the printed page.  Any idea of how I can fix this?
