Trouble setting up scanning on i-SENSE MF643Cdw

I'm having a lot of trouble getting scanning to work on my new i-SENSE MF643Cdw. I can't find out how to set it up to email a scan once complete.

 

I also can't get the MF scan utility to work. I get an error message saying "A scanner driver supporting this software is not installed". But I can't seem to find a scanner driver for this printer anywhere.

 

Set up on wireless network. I've installed latest driver and software for the printer from canon. Currently using Canon Generic Plus PCL6 driver on windows 10. 

 

Any help on how to set this up and get this working much appreciated. 


Imageclass LBP622Cdw Concerns?

A few questions/concerns regarding new Imageclass LBP622Cdw printer;

 

  1. Update firmware request via printer LCD console returns - "Communication Error: Cannot check firmware version"
    (from PC Remote UI - Main controller v05.18, Boot ROM v02.01, DCON v02.01, Language v01.15)
    If current firmware and/or no update available - Would still expect Printer direct check to succeed?

  2. Sporadically printer activates "Data Error" light on front panel.
    (Error code E733-005 which decodes as; Communication error between the Engine Controller PCB and the Main Controller PCB occurred. Remedy: Turn OFF and then ON the main power.)
    2x times in 3 days typically during idle/Eco mode - Not consistent or predictable. Recovers with power cycle
    What's going on with this error? Serious?

  3. Canon Print Utility (v12.7.0.0) main screen reports - "The toner status cannot be displayed"

  4. After each print job Printer repeatedly (~7x times?) displays - "Correcting... Wait a moment..." message.
    Suspect some sort of Image Quality adjustment but wondering Why so many?
    And how to eliminate?

  5. Finally, method to check S/N history? Would like to confirm printer is new or possible refurb.
Are all these observations related? Overall, so far printing appears to work fine.
 
Printer is connected via Ethernet.
Remote UI from PC appears to work as expected although connection seems slow.
Window 10 (64 bit) Home version 2004.

Print Error - ImageClass LBP622CDW

Every time I print, I'm getting a No Paper error (LTR: Plain 1).  However, I have paper loaded in the drawer. 

 

When the error is occurring, I then click on Paper Settings, then the paper drawer, and it prints fine.  How can I fix this continuous problem?

Auto Adjust Gradation fails

imageCLASS MF644cdw, purchased 11/2019.

 

All of the options under Auto Adjust Gradation give this msg : "Unable to perform correction."  What is going on here?

 

[Discovered the above in the process of trying to solve a failure to print B/W text, except very very illegibly faintly. Have 'shaken' the cartridges as specified.  All are at about 70%.   Colors seem to print.  Also have some sort of streaks down the center of the page when printing a color image.  Some text only, or B/W text-graphics jobs will print ok, if the printer properties are set to Color (that is not B/W or Auto).  But not everything prints well that way.]

 

This printer is, I believe, under 3 yr limited warranty.  I wonder what that means - the explanation on the website seems a little vague.

CANON CARE PAK warranty issue

Hi there, 

 

I am having trouble with registering my CANON imagePROGRAF pro-300 inkjet printer to my CAREPAK warranty. I followed instructions and created an account, but when I try to add it as a product; it doesn't show up in a drop down menu when I type it in. I checked out all the options and my printer is not one of them. I can't even add it to my CANON CAREPAK even though I purchased them at the same time. I know the printer was just released not long ago, but I would think CANON would have updated the products to include that printer. It anyone else having this issue. Anyone know of any way to solve this issue I would gladly appreciated. Thanks.

Canon imageClass MF743CDW - Auto Duplex on A5

How do I achieve auto duplex printing on A5 sized paper?  It is only printing single sided when we select 2-side from the following programs: InDesign, Word, GoogleDocs.  8.5x11 prints fine.

I have a Canon MF440 Series (specifically, the MF445dw), which uses the Canon MF Scan Utility.  The printer is connected via ethernet cable to a router, which is connected via ethernet cable to my computer.  The computer is an Apple iMac running OS X Catalina.  When scanning from the printer to my iMac, the scan button on the printer opens Canon MF Scan Utility in the background on my iMac as the printer scans to the folder on my computer.  That initial scan works fine.  However, Canon MF Scan Utility remains open in the background after the initial scan, and therefore my next scan (again using the "scan" button on the printer) produces this message:  "The scanner is not available while in use by another application or user."  If I close out the Canon MF Scan Utility (and cancel the scan request on the printer), I am able to start over with a scan request from the printer and everything works fine for the second scan.  However, the problem repeats itself for the third scan, i.e., Canon MF Scan Utiliity remains open in the background following the second scan, so the program blocks the third scan with the same error message as above.  Another interesting element is that when I click "OK" on the error message, Canon MF Scan Utility closes itself and I can proceed with a third scan.  But then it repeats with the fourth scan, etc....

 

This seems like a silly programming error in Canon MF Scan Utility.  Either the program should quit itself automatically after finishing a scan, or else it should not report a conflict with itself when I go from one scan job to the next at the printer.  It definitely should not throw up an error message that requires me to click "OK" on an error message so that the program closes itself, as this requires me to return to the computer after each scan rather than allow me to scan a series of scan jobs from the printer to the computer.

 

Is there a solution to this issue?  It's a very surprising problem to arise from a networked printer that is supposed to be good for mutiple users (let alone just one user).  Thank you.

Print Monitor won't queue jobs for layout plugins

Hi I bought new mac with Big Sur OS and have a IPF8400 printer.

When I use photoshop with the layout plug-in or the print plug-in, the print monitor does not queue the print jobs, and does not print..

But, the Printer works fine with photoshop when i dont use the plug-ins or the print monitor, and print of the Menu/File/Print.

How remove eFax from list of Print options

My machine is ImageClass MF236n

 

I recently installed eFax because I wanted to test with it after I had a problem sending a regular fax.

Now that problem is fixed, and I uninstalled eFax, but it still appears on the options list for printing - in most contexts it is the first option and has to be changed for each document.    It's a great nuisance, but I cannot see how to take it out of the list.

Scan to email was working just fine up in till yesterday. I am not able to find the option to add text to the email that is sent when scanning to email.

LBP6230dw: can't install driver & paper jam?

I just got a imageClass LBP6230dw and it's so far the worst piece of hardware I've ever bought and I wish I was joking.

1/ I can't install the drivers via UBS. I tried all the ways I've found online so far: when I click Network Setting Tool --> CHAN1STK.exe the USB option is grayed out. I changed the cords, turned on/off the printer, followed instructions step by step and still grayed out. I've re-downloaded the drivers. I've now been on hold for 1.5 hours and counting and figured maybe someone at Canon reads these boards.

 

2/ This is a brand new printer. I obviously have not been able to print anything, yet the paper jam button continues to blink! I rechecked to make sure all stickers were gone, I shook up the toner, I replaced the toner with a brand new one, and it still blinks. 

 

What are my options here. I'll take any suggestions. I've tried all the above steps on two computers and both don't work. 


Canon MF743Cdw suspends each print job

Hi, I’m new to this community and have looked to see if my issue has come up before, but I don’t see anything similar posted. I am re-posting this request as a new thread; I mistakenly posted it originally at the tail end of another discussion. Here goes. . .

 

I have a new MF743cdw printer that is connected wirelessly to my network and I use Windows laptops. I’m able to send print jobs to the printer which wakes up from sleep mode, the Data Indicator lights up and the Error Indicator lights up. The print job is suspended; the manual feed tray is highlighted in red, and I'll get a message on the panel to load paper. But when I select the paper tray, the job will print fine. I’ve tried to set the paper tray as the default paper source but that's not solving the problem. I cannot figure out what setting is causing all my print jobs to be suspended until I go over to the printer and manually select the paper tray.

Scan to yahoo email from image class MF642cdw

Hello can someone please help me to setting up for scan to yahoo email from my image class mf642cdw printer??

I did set smtp server and port and authentication as per instruction but at the end it error out with messages showing check the network cord or turn off and on main power. I did many times but no luck.

MF642 printing to custom paper size

I'm trying to print to 5.25 x 7.25 envelopes.  I've added this paper size to the printer, but the Print Properties dialogue box, paper size, doesn't list this paper size that I've added to the printer and there is no apparent way to added a custom paper size from the Print Properties app.  Please help.

Imageclass MF4770n intermittent problems

I've had my ImageClass MF4770n for a while now and for the most part has been a good machine.

 

I have the printer set up on the network so is connected directly to my router.  I have had this issue on several versions of Windows ranging from Vista to Windows 10.

 

Every once in a while there is a problem when printing to it, the documents show up in the print queue but do not print.. There are never any errors or anything to indicate what the problem is. Sometimes turning it off and then back on will solve the problem. When that doesn't work I delete the print job and try again. That does not work most times. To save time I then switch to my local printer and move on. This is not a good option if I am prining anything more than 10 pages because the one connected to my PC is an inkjet and well, the laster if fater and toner is cheaper than ink.

 

I have also tried resolving the issue by uninstalling the printer and reinstalling from scratch. This seems to help but the problem does eventually come back.

 

I have ran Windows troubleshooting and it never finds a problem. Someone suggested maybe my firewall is blocking my connection to the printer but I can see no evidence of that. 

 

Does anyone have any suggestions to better troubleshoot the problem?
